Your Proposed Itinerary (11-12 Hours):

07:30 AMPickup from your Cairns or Port Douglas hotel. Ascend the Kuranda Range into the hills.
08:30 AMMareeba Coffee Stop: Short stop in the heart of Australia's coffee region for a refreshing morning coffee overlooking the plantation (own cost).
09:15 AMGranite Gorge: Explore the spectacular boulders and get fantastic photo opportunities feeding the Rock Wallabies.
09:45 AMThe Great Outback Drive: Head west towards Chillagoe (approx. 2 hours). Pass through historic mining towns like Almaden.
12:00 PMChillagoe Caves & Lookouts: Arrive in Chillagoe. See the towering limestone karsts and the famous Balanced Rock. Join a ranger for a guided cave tour.
02:00 PMOutback Pub Lunch: Enjoy a classic lunch at the historic Post Office Hotel (built at the turn of the century).
03:30 PMHistoric Smelters: Wander through the historical ruins of the copper mining era.
05:00 PMMt Uncle Distillery: On the return journey, stop to sample award-winning liqueurs or grab an afternoon tea before descending the mountain range.
07:00 PMArrive back at your hotel.
